Rice Cereal and Bath time

Maggie started eating rice cereal at 4 months and tomorrow she will be 5 months old, so these pictures are a month old! jeez... better late than never I suppose.  I can't believe how fast she is growing!  She already has two teeth!  Whats going on here?  How did this happen? Slow down woman!
My Maggie is all sugar I tell ya, nothing but sweetness.  I wish she could stay like this little forever.

Bedtime pictures!  I love Rachel's baby-fine hair.  I think it's time for a trim, but I just don't want to!  (it'll shorten the pigtail length anyway...haha)

Here we go!  That girl had an eye of a tiger!  She gobbled that stuff up... I wondered if it was too early, but after the first bite I knew she was definitely ready.

Somebody call the Waaaambulance!

Two kids means you can't give each kid all the attention they want when they want it.  Rachel still hasn't quite figured this out yet.  This was one of those moments where both babies were crying and I decided to stop and lead the chorus for a while.  I love this picture.  This is so typical Rachel...  No pants, messy pigtails, ponytails on each wrist, about 5 bobby pins in her hair and a bow of course, long necklace, and my sparkle shoes... haha!... alright I've got an apple to cut up...

Fort Worth Children's Museum

Some of the Payne cousins came into town a couple of weeks ago and had a few free passes to the museum.  So we got to go! (thanks Tawnya!)

It was a pretty awesome Children's Museum!  It was big with lots of fun things to do.  Rachel and I pooped out before seeing it all.  And of course there was a big water fountain out in front of the museum.  It seems everywhere we go there's water.  I just need to have the bathing suits and towels in the trunk all the time.  This time all I thought was, it's nap time dang it! We're going home and we'll just play in the sprinklers later.  So, this time no fountain.  I know, bad Mom award.  haha.

This was my favorite!  A huge Lite Brite!

Easter Weekend!

Easter is my favorite.  I love the cheerful, bright colors.  I love the Texas wildflowers.  I love the weather.  I just love it.  But most of all I love how simple it is. Don't you think it's simple?  Simple and beautiful.  He is Risen!

We spent Easter in Houston this year. It was great getting to see these two for dinner! I LOVE my Grandma and Grandpa Barrow!  I was so grateful they can up to the North-side to visit us. I love this picture of the two of them...

Rachel and Maggie with their great-grandparents (how cool is that?)...don't mind Rachel, she was at the end of her rope...

I don't know why but I love this picture... Mom and her big picnic bag, Dad with the cooler... off to the Easter egg hunt!
Photobucket

This was the only egg Rachel "hunted".  I tried, really I did, but she just wanted to play on the playground...

Our Maggie-Moo in her Easter dress...

I was the lucky one holding Maggie during these pictures.  Whoever is holding her always gets a good shot!  That beautiful baby can make anyone look good! :)

Super Dad

There is nothing a Daddy can't do.  Seriously, they have a special Daddy-power. That's what I always thought growing up.  I remember thinking nothing is cooler, stronger, faster, funnier, smarter than my Dad.  I remember a conversation in elementary school going something like this...
Some kid: "My Dad has a cooler car than your Dad."
Some other kid: "Oh yeah? My Dad is has a cooler job than your Dad"
Me: "Well, my Dad can beat up all your Dads!"
True story.
I also remember being really bummed when someone told me that I couldn't be a Daddy  when I grew up.  I didn't get it. Why the heck not? ... haha... oh well, being a Mommy is pretty cool too.

Anyway, this was one of those Daddy-power moments.  Tyler decided it was high time Nana and Pop had a swing for the grandkids in the backyard.  He was so gunghoe about it that even though it had gotten dark by the time we got home from Lowes, he put it up anyway.  I must admit that I was getting a little nervous.  But, he made it out of the tree with no broken bones! Yeah! (Although, broken bones would have made a good blog post too! haha. just kidding!) Maybe I'm just speaking for this Mommy, but you're not going to find me climbing that tree!  I definitely would have fallen.  Sometimes I try, but there really isn't any replacing that Daddy-power.

It was high!

A game Tyler and Rachel have... try to kick Daddy in the face... trust me it's a form a affection for these two...

Party Time!

First birthdays are always fun because the baby has no clue whats going on.  I love watching their little faces say, "I can really do that?" followed by, "Alright, nobody has to tell me twice!" as they demolish their cake.  Second birthdays are fun because the kiddo totally knows what's going on.  It was all about Miss Rachel, and she knew it.  Boy, did she soak it all up!

This was hilarious!  Rachel couldn't quite figure out how to blow out her candles.  The same thing happened when we tried to blow dandelion flowers... she would go to blow out the candles and mimic everything we showed her except actually blowing.  Everyone couldn't stop laughing! This went on for about 5 minutes until Tyler got behind her and blew them out while she was performing.  She totally thought she did it. Funny Girl!

The cake!  I was so proud of myself. I know it's no Cake Boss cake, but I sure liked it!  She loved the flower on top and all the colors inside.  She kept naming them off as she ate it. haha.

My Sunshine

My little ray of sunshine is two years old.

To my Rachel Lynn:

I love it when your pigtails go crazy after you wake up from a nap. It is so cute.
I love it when I find your animals and princesses all lined up on window sills.
I love it when the first thing you remember in the morning is lipgloss.  Yes, I said you could have some more today. You never forget a promise.
I love it when you run to me every time "a bad lady" comes on TV.  Ursula is the scariest.
I love it when I rock you to sleep and you ask for a princess song.  After a few of those I say, "It's Jesus's turn" and you say, "okay".
I love how you're always telling me to "come here!". haha
I love your chocolate brown eyes. We are brown eyed girls. :)
I love it when you say, "Maggie Moo!" and kiss your sister.
I love it when you beg to get up on the trampoline and as soon as you do, you want the swing instead.
I love it when you ask me to draw tiny hearts and big hearts while I massage your back.
I love how you love to lick your finger and stick it in the sugar container.
I love it when you ask for your sunglasses every time we go for a car ride.
I love it when every time you see a big building you shout out, "TEMPLE!"
I love it when I catch you trying on my shoes, putting on my jewelry, and trying to rub my deodorant into your armpits.
I love how you always "sustain" or "oppose" people at church. hilarious!
I love it when I come to get you from your crib in the morning and you announce, "I TOOTED! I POOPED!" Then as I change your diaper I say, "Rachel, you pooped?", and then you laugh and say "NO!" hahahaha. You fooled me!
I love it when you giggle every time Maggie spits up.
I love it when you use "Ahhh" to emphasize everything! Ahh-Apple! Ahh-Milk! Ahh-Stuck Ahh-Mommy!
I love running my fingers through your soft, baby fine hair.
I love it when you think that wearing ponytails on your wrists in fashionable.
I love the look of concentration on your face.
I love it when you wrap your arms and legs around me when you give hugs!! Especially when your in the shopping cart at the grocery store.  You think that if you hug me long enough I'll let you out.  It works sometimes. haha... What can I say? I'm a sucker.
I love it when you fold your arms for prayers.
I love it when you DANCE!  Your little booty cracks me up.
I love how excited you get to sing, "I'm so glad when Daddy comes home..."
I love it when you ask to cuddle or rock.
I love it when you sit in my lap and we read books together.
I love it when you call everyone in for "scripture powder" time at night instead of "scripture power" time.
I love your big, bright smile! It really does brighten my day.
I love it when we go on our "Target dates" and you ask for popcorn.
I love your KISSES.
I love it when you run after the chickens in the pasture and yell, "Beek-a-bok!"  (I think that sounds better than "bok-bok" too)
I love how you are such a water baby!  Rain, sprinklers, hose, bath, faucets... you love it all.
I love it when you say please and thank you.
I love how everytime I cry you look into my eyes and with a very worried look on your face and say, "Mommy, Mommy" followed by a big hug.
I love how you LOVE country music and wearing cowgirl boots.  I need to get you some of your own one day.
I love how you say "Gig'em!" and make a pistol because you can't do a thumbs up.
I love it when you meet new friends and give them lots and lots of hugs. Sometimes maybe a little too many... haha
I love it when you want out of timeout and give me a really pitiful smile and "sorry".
I love your little run.  Dang girl, you can make time!
I love it when you tell me you love me.  That is the BEST.

Happy Birthday my Sunshine!

A Little Fluffy

Did I just hear a "chirp, chirp" coming from the incubator?  Yes, Yes I did!  They hatched!, well some of them.  Only about half of the ones that hatched survived.  Chicks sure are fragile little guys.  For some reason I imagined the whole process to be cute and fluffy, but that certainly wasn't the case.  It was more like slimy and stinky with a little fluffy at the end. "It's so fluffy I'm gonna DIE!" (name that movie!)

See what I mean... slimy!  Let's just do one slimy picture, shall we?

Photobucket

Time for fluffy!  I just love the looks on Rachel's face!  They're actually genuine expressions, instead of her cheesy "I'll give you a piece of candy if you smile at the camera" smiles... but I love those ones too. :)
