Butterdie!

My parents gave Rachel a butterfly habitat for her birthday.  It was pretty nifty, all you have to do is mail in your order number and a jar of caterpillars come back ready to grow and turn into butterflies!

We love it when we get to play with our Payne cousins! Here they all are about to set the little dudes free.  They were so excited!

Katie thought it was funny how Rachel kept calling the butterfly, butterdie, so she named it Butterdie!

Rachel wasn't too happy about letting them go...

Good thing one of them had a busted wing and couldn't fly off... well good thing for Rachel that is...

Its such a fascinating process.  I definitely want to do this again when Rachel is a little older and can understand all the stages. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Two Rangers tickets arrived in the mail last week.  I wonder who they were for? You guessed it, ME! I had put the bug in Tyler's ear that I really wanted to go to a game, and he did it!  I was so excited.  If someone asked me what my idea of a perfect date would be, it wouldn't be going to the movies or walking along the beach, it would definitely be this. I love going to baseball games.  I remember going to several Astros games growing up. We always got the cheap "nosebleed" section seats, but my brother and I always brought our gloves anyway hoping we would catch a foul ball.  Those were some good times.
This was a good time too.  There's something about the atmosphere of the ballpark. It's just FUN!

A racoon on the Interstate! hahaha! I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this.  I grabbed the camera and started shooting.  Gotta love rush hour! Photobucket

I've always loved this ballpark.  Isn't it pretty?Photobucket

Buy me some peanut's and crackerjacks, I don't care if I ever get back..."
We're such goofballs.  I love being a goofball with Tyler Payne.

Another reason why this game was so awesome... they had a fireworks show afterwards!Photobucket

p.s.- the Ranger's won 8-1.  WHOOP!

15 minutes before church

We have 9 o' clock church, which in my opinion is the BEST!  Mostly because it's not it the middle of nap-time or lunch.  That being said, getting to church on time becomes more difficult, especially when you have two cute little girls.  So rushing out the door I grab my camera, throw a quilt on the grass, and plop the babies down in the middle of it.  As soon as this happens somebody (not naming names) gives me the look and tells me church starts in 15 minutes.  I am fully aware of this, however, are you fully aware that Rachel is going to rip the adorable headband off her head and Maggie is going to spit up all over her dress in the next 5 minutes?  I just can't help myself. We did however walk into sacrament meeting right when the opening song began.  Not too shabby.  But next week we will definitely be there ON time. Thank goodness my husband loves me.

So, what do you think?  Was it worth being late?
I think so.

The Hazards of Wearing a Dress

Since I've been married, I've become more girly.  I don't know when or how that switch turned on, but now I can say that I like getting dressed up and lookin' pretty. What can I say, it just feels good. Putting on a little makeup in the morning makes me feel more put together and ready to go.  However, I still can only take wearing a dress or skirt for so long.  Maggie understands the feeling.  She gets so frustrated every time I put a dress on her because her legs get all caught up in it as she crawls.  So, I came up with a quick fix...

Ain't nothing going to stop me now...Photobucket

If only I could do that.

The Whole Package!

This is probably my favorite park here in Weatherford because it's a splash-pad and park all in one.  It's the WHOLE package! When you get bored of the splash-pad, you put your flippers on and head to the park.  It's a great go-to for summertime.

too much fun...

Maggie's first swing shots... priceless.

Mama, Mama, I can smile real big too! (somebody was a little jealous)

I am in love with this picture...

I have just one more thing to say, I just can't help it! Rachel said her first prayer tonight without any help! It made me soooo happy. I just can't describe the happiness. It went like this...
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank Thee for day, food, obey happy all day.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I love being a Mommy.

they come, they eat, they leave

These little boogers destroyed the garden...

They are everywhere! Seriously, there were about 100 in this one bush...

But, you've gotta admit, they are pretty cool lookin'...

Sheriffs Posse Rodeo

I love the rodeo and I love being a Texan. oh yeah.
Tyler was going to be at drill the weekend of the rodeo, and I was so bummed! But Tyler or no Tyler, I was going to the rodeo.  It was something I had been looking forward to for a long time.  Luckily, Alisha and I turned it into a girls night and it was a blast. I love the feel of a small town rodeo... all the country-folk, cowboy boots, and thick accents.  Yeehaw!!!

Alisha and I... I am so lucky to have Alisha for a friend and running buddy.  We go running just about every single day.

The calf scramble! One of my favorites!  They let all the kids in the stands ages 7-14 go try and catch a calf. They also had a goat scramble for kids ages 3-7... so dang cute.  I can't wait for Rachel to do it!
Photobucket
I was stubborn and insisted on keeping my camera on manual mode... even though I have no practice with action shots in low light... oh well, try not to get a headache when you look at these...
Photobucket
Do you know why bulls get so darn mad?  Tyler enlightened me at the Houston Rodeo a few years ago.  Let's just say it made me cringe... no wonder.

God Bless Texas!
